Format:

 A shooter may compete in a maximum of two events.

 Standard Pistol Match is for rimfire firearms and features a sight-in stage followed by four stages of five rounds fired in 150 seconds per stage, followed by four stages of five rounds fired in 20 seconds per stage, followed by four stages of five rounds fired in ten seconds per stage. Seven targets in total will be, used.

 Centre Fire Pistol Match is for center-fire firearms 45 caliber or less and features a sight-in stage followed by six stages of five rounds fired in 150 seconds per stage. Four targets in total will be, used. (One for sighting and three for the match).

 Novice Rim Fire Match limited to novice shooters with limited competition experience, is for rimfire firearms and features a sight-in stage followed by six stages of five rounds fired in 150 seconds per stage. Four targets in total will be, used.

 Novice Centre Fire Match limited to novice shooters with limited competition experience, is for center-fire firearms 45 calibers or less and features a sight-in stage followed by six stages of five rounds fired in 150 seconds per stage. Four targets in total will be, used.

 

 Regional Representation:

Open registration - no limit on the number of athletes from each region.

 

The Southern Alberta Summer Games has Zero Tolerance and Harassment Policy. If a competitor, coach, guardian, parent, or spectator is abusive in any way towards officials, other competitors or volunteers will be immediately ejected from the competition event. If they are responsible for an under 18 competitors competing in the event, then youth would be, disqualified and eliminated by default.

 

Rules and Regulations:

  1. Shooting Federation of Canada Sporting Rifle and Hunter Rifle Rules in effect, unless mention below.
  2. Every athlete must be able to always produce appropriate identification, to officials.
  3. Coaching on the Fireline allowed at the discretion of the Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director. Coaching allowed for under 18-year-old shooters must not interfere with other shooters.
  4. All shooters under the age of 18 must be, accompanied by a coach/guardian who is at least 18 with a valid firearms license. They must remain at the event while the youth are participating in the event. Any young person left unattended can be, disqualified and eliminated by default by the Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director.
  5. All shooters and other people in the immediate vicinity of the Fireline must wear appropriate ear and eye protection. It is Mandatory and the responsibility of participant and coaches.
  6. Ear protection incorporating any type of receiving device are not permitted for shooters.
  7. Eye protection must be shatterproof shooter glasses or similar eye protection while on the range.
  8. Safety flags, rods or trimmer line must be inserted in firearms when not in use on the Fireline.
  9. All shooters must be present at least 30 minutes prior to the event starting time, indicated on the schedule. Anyone late, or not present when their name is, called will be, eliminated by default.
  10. Range safety rules and protocols of the host range will always be in effect.
  11. The Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director has final on final rulings. Any shooter can be, disqualified at any time for infraction of range rules and or regulations.
  12. Athletes may not place their guns and equipment on their firing points until the Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director has called the athletes to the line.
  13. There will be a ten-minute Preparation and Sighting Time with a 30 second delay before Match firing begins.
  14. Any coach/guardian can be, asked to leave the range at any time for any infraction of rules and regulations by the Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director. If responsible for an under 18-year-old competitor, the youth is, disqualified and eliminated by default.
  15. All participants/coaches/guardians are, expected to abide by all laws concerning firearms, transportation, storage, and handling of firearms.
  16. You must notify at the time of registration deadline if more than one shooter is using the same firearm. Maximum of two competitors per firearm.
  17. All events are, shot at 20
  18. All handguns may have open sights or optic red dot.
  19. Target load ammunition No magnum loads.
  20. The Chief Range Safety Officer/Match Director will inspect all handguns and ammunition.
  21. Events one and two will follow Shooting Federation of Canada Rules for the Standard Pistol Match and the Center Fire Pistol
  22. Events three and four are, limited to novice shooters with limited competition
  23. Events three and four will be, shot slow fire and most safe handguns will be.

 

Registration Deadline:

 Registration Deadline as designated by your Regional Director

 All registrations are, done through your Regional Director, who will determine the Regional Deadline. The registration fee must also be, submitted to your Regional Director. Signed consent forms must accompany the waivers.

  No late registrations will be, accepted.

 Events will be, cancelled if there are ___ or less individuals or teams registered. Should any event be, cancelled due to lack of registration, the athletes being, affected by the cancellation will be, given an opportunity to re-register in another suitable category if the event is, scheduled to run.
