Dates:

Wednesday, July 2nd:

  •  Men’s Doubles - 24 teams total
  •  Women’s Doubles - 24 teams total
  •  Junior Co-Ed - 12 teams total

Thursday, July 3rd:

  • Boys Doubles - 12 teams total
  • Girls Doubles - 12 teams total
  • Mixed Doubles - 36 teams total


Location: Taber Ice Arena (large surface)


Time: Check In: 7:30am Start Time: 8:00am


Capacity: 120 Teams or 240 Players

Schedule:
• Schedule may be adjusted day of event for no-shows and cancellations
• All participants must be present at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your event. All start times are subject to change.

Events and Age Groups: All ages as of December 31st of current year.
• Youth:
o Categories: boy’s doubles, girl’s doubles, and co-ed doubles
o Skill Level: one combined
o Age Brackets: Under 15 (Age is the age you will become in 2025)

• Adults:
o Categories: men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles
o Skill Level: under 3.5 and 3.5 + above
o Age Brackets: 16+ (Age is the age you will become in 2025)

• Team-based entry - Registration is considered complete when both players have registered and paid the tournament fees.
• Teams must play at the skill level of the highest rated partner and in the age category of the youngest player.
• Brackets may be merged or split based on event registration numbers. If you want to play in a bracket that is full - be sure to sign up on the waitlist. Tournament Director will be evaluating brackets to ensure the total number of teams (120 teams) for the tournament are accommodated.

Bracket Format:
• Less than 6 teams - Round Robin format, one game to 15 (win by 1). Top 4 teams will play for medals.
• 6 to 10 teams - double elimination with each match being best 2 out of 3 games to 11 (win by 1) on the “A” side of the draw. On the “B” side of the draw, each match will consist of one game to 15 (win by 1)
• More than 10 teams - double elimination with each match being one game to 15 (win by 1) on the “A” side of the draw. On the “B” side of the draw, each match will consist of one game to 15 (win by 1)
• Junior Division will be Round Robin format, one game to 15 (win by 1). Top 4 teams will play for medals.
• Each team is guaranteed a minimum of two matches

Tournament Ball: Churco Hybrid 40 (Contact John Findlay to purchase practice balls)

Rules and Regulations:
1. Play will be governed by the rules set by the USPA, 2025 Official Pickleball Rulebook
2. All participants must be present at least 60 minutes prior to the tournament starting time indicated on the schedule.
3. Every athlete must be able to produce appropriate identification at all times.
4. Courts are indoors on an arena floor; please wear appropriate footwear. Hybrid Indoor balls will be used.
5. Players must supply their own paddles, non-marking shoes, and appropriate clothing.
6. Players will be responsible for line calls. Rounds will be refereed pending referee availability. A tournament director will be on call to address rule disputes. The tournament director’s decision is final.
7. Medals will be awarded for Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the conclusion of each event.
8. The Southern Alberta Summer Games has a Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy. If a competitor, coach, parent, or spectator is abusive in any way towards officials, other competitors, or volunteers, they will immediately be ejected from competition.


• You will receive your game notifications and court assignments if you checked YES to “Receive in-game text messages” AND Cell Carrier should be selected when setting up your Player Profile. Failure to show up on time for your games will result in a FORFEIT.

  • Enter your first & last name (If you are a member of Pickleball Canada, use the same spelling you use in your membership account)
  • Create a password
  • Complete your personal information
  • Select your self skill rating for doubles and singles (visit https://pickleballcanada.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Pickleball-Canada-Skills-Self-Assessment-Chart.pdf or see attached, if you need help self assessing)

NOTE: You can typically play in a higher division but never in a lower division.


    DUPR is not required for this tournament. You can choose to turn off the toggle switch if you do not have one.
If you choose to create or connect DUPR select yes or no and you will be taken to another website later

Click “Create Account” and then check your email for the verification email.

Click Verify in the email and you will be taken back to the tournament page but you are now signed in

Click REGISTER NOW in blue box

Enter your complete address (if prompted to do so)

Enter the code given to you by Southern Alberta Summer Games Regional Directors upon the completion of your registration on their website.

Select the events you are interested in/able to play and follow the prompts until you have completed your registration.
