Regional Representation:
Open - no limit on the number of teams per region
Minor/Major- Maximum 14 players
Seniors- Maximum 18 players
Format:
Guaranteed 3 games
Round Robin with playoffs for medals as needed. To be determined by the number of teams entered.
Events and Age Groups:
Age as of August 31st of the current year:
Minors (9-10 years)
Majors (11-12 years)
Senior (13 -15 years)
Rules and Regulations:
- MINOR/MAJOR AND SENIOR tournament governed by Little League Canada Tournament Rules, unless otherwise stated.
- Minor/Major teams may register a maximum of 14 players and Senior teams may register a maximum of 18 players.
- Player Rosters: Any differences between original player rosters and game day rosters must be noted with the umpire at the pre-game home plate meeting.
- All athletes must be able to produce appropriate identification at all times.
- Good sportsmanship is expected of all coaches, parents and NO ABUSE OF UMPIRES OR OFFICIALS WILL BE TOLERATED! Failure to comply with this rule could lead to ejection.
- The Southern Alberta Summer Games has a Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy. If a competitor, coach, parent, or spectator is abusive in any way towards officials, other competitors or volunteers, they will immediately be ejected from competition.
- Home team with use the 3rd base dugout throughout the A coin toss will determine home teams for all games. The coin toss for all round robin games will occur at home plate prior to either team beginning warm ups.

MINOR/MAJOR Rules:
Substitution Rule:
- Special Pinch Runner, will apply

The Game:
- All MAJOR/MINOR games will be six (6) innings in No new inning can start after the completion of 2 hours of playing time, unless required for a game to become a regulation game. The Sport Chairperson reserves the right to impose a time limit on any game in order to maintain the tournament schedule.
- The 10-run rule will apply in this Any team leading by 10 runs after 4 completed innings or any completed inning after (3 and a half innings if the home team is ahead) will be declared the winner of the game.

Equipment:
- All catchers must wear approved Little League catcher’s helmet and mask with a throat protector, a long body chest protector, protective supporter and cup at all times.
- Batters must wear protective NOCSAE helmets during practice as well as Chin straps on batting helmets are MANDATORY.
- No steel cleats allowed.
Pitching Rules:
Any player may pitch. The following 2018 Little League pitch counts and rest requirements must be followed:

- Any player may pitch. Each player will be restricted to their respective age group maximum number of tournament pitches. If a pitcher pitches 20 or less pitches he/she will be al- lowed to pitch the next game or day.
- A single player may be used as a pitcher in up to two games in a (Exception: If that player pitched 21 or more pitches in the first games, that player may not pitch in the second game on that day).
- All pitch counts are cumulative.
- A pitcher who delivers 41 or more pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of the day.
- The violation of any pitching rule may result in forfeiture of the game in which the violation occurred.
Lead off Rules:
No lead offs in Minors and Majors. Runners can ‘steal’ when the pitch reaches the BATTER. Which in most cases is the plate. Base runners can leave the bas as soon as the pitch reaches the batter.
SENIOR Rules:
Substitution Rule:
- Only a player in the starting lineup may re-enter the game.
- A courtesy runner for the catcher with 2 outs is allowed.
The Game:
- All SENIOR games will be seven (7) innings in No new inning can start after the completion of 2 1/2 hours of playing time, unless required for a game to become a regulation game. The Sport Chairperson reserves the right to impose a time limit on any game in order to maintain the tournament schedule.

All Senior player, regardless of age, will adhere to the 2018 Little League pitching rest requirements for league age 14 and under:

Registration Deadline:

All registrations are done through your Regional Director, who will determine the Regional Deadline. The registration fee must also be submitted to your Regional Director. Signed consent forms must accompany the waivers.
No late registrations will be accepted.
Events will be cancelled if there are one or less individuals or teams registered. Should any event be cancelled due to lack of registrations, the athletes being affected by the cancellation will be given an opportunity to re-register in another suitable category provided that event is scheduled to run.
